چکیده

Abstract Background Outcomes following oesophagectomy for oesophageal cancer continue to improve, but complications are common and can result in significant morbidity. Post-operative known impact upon peri-operative short-term survival the effect on long-term remains unclear. The aim of this study is investigate post-operative oesophagectomy. Methods A contemporaneously maintained database from a single centre was reviewed. All patients who underwent between January 2010 2019 were included. Patients separated into three groups, those experienced no or very minor (Clavien-Dindo 0 1), 2), major 3-4). Those died during index hospital admission excluded correct mortality effects. Overall analysed using Kaplan-Meier log rank testing. Results Seven hundred twenty-three time. Seventeen (2.4%) their stay, analysis. 30- 90- day 1.1% (8/723) 2.4% (17/723) respectively. There 43.2% (305/706), 30.2% (213/706) 26.6% (188/706) Clavien-Dindo 0-1, 2, 3-4 group Median across groups equivalent (50, 57 51 months). Predictors of Long-Term Survival after Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Abstract Introduction: Survival after cardiac arrest is one of the most important issues related to the safety and quality of patient care, and unexpected events such as failure to follow guidelines can endanger the patient's safety. Objective: This study aimed to determine the long-term survival after cardiopulmonary resuscitation and its predictors in patients with cardiac arrest. Materi...

Respiratory complications after oesophagectomy for cancer do not affect disease-free survival.

OBJECTIVES Recent studies have suggested that postoperative complications could have a potential negative effect on long-term outcome after oesophagectomy for cancer. Because respiratory failures represent the most frequent postoperative complication, we have investigated the prognostic impact of these complications on disease-free survival (DFS). METHODS From a prospective single-institution...

Achieving long term survival in oesophagectomy patients aged over 75

AIMS Surgical resection is often the only curative treatment for oesophageal cancer. The aim of this retrospective cohort study was to analyse outcomes following oesophageal resection in patients aged 75 years and older and the impact of an Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) program in this cohort. METHODS Patients aged over 75 years undergoing oesophagectomy between 2003 and 2013 were id...

Colorectal Cancer Survival is not Affected by Delay in Diagnosis

Introduction: We previously published that patients were significantly less likely to have Australian clinicopathological stage (ACPS) ‘A’ colorectal cancer (CRC) tumours if there had been delayed diagnosis or if they were male. The aim of this study was to evaluate in the same group of patients the effects of delayed diagnosis, gender, age, tumour site and stage on long term survival. Methods:...
